Visiting Professor

Assistant Professor Dr. Wu Yuan Kang

Prof WuCEES is hosting Assistant Professor Dr. Wu Yuan Kang as the visiting Professor to the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from the 17th January until the 28th January 2011. Wu Yuan-Kang was born in 1970. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2004. He was a researcher at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and an engineer at the Taiwan Electric Research and Testing Center (TERTC) in Taiwan. He is presently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Penghu University, Taiwan,working in the area of wind power system, system impact analysis, renewable energy forecasting techniques, power system control and management, distributed generation and smart grid control. He has carried out 12 national research projects and 1 international projects in the 5 years. He has also published 20 jurnal papers.

Prof. Dr. Neville R.Watson

Nevill Watson_burnedCEES is hosting Prof. Neville Watson as the visiting Professor to the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from the 6th July until the 14th July 2010. Prof. Dr. Neville R. Watson is currently a Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Canterbury. He has published many technical papers in refereed international journals as well as co-authored many books on power system, harmonics and power electronics. ‘Power System Harmonics’ is among the widely published books co-authored by Prof. Dr. Neville Watson. His interests include power quality and steady-state and dynamic analysis of ac/dc power systems. He is currently working on a government project to develop Power Quality guidelines for New Zealand.

Prof. Hamdy Ahmed Abd El-Khalek Ashour 

Hamdy Ashour_burnedProf. Hamdy Ashour is CEES’s visiting professor from 25th May to 26th May 2014. He is currently a full time lecturer in Arab Academy for Science & Technology, Egypt, and has served since 1999. His interest includes renewable energy, smart grid systems, electrical machines, industrial automated systems and energy efficient systems. He holds official certificates from SIEMENS to teach the company’s different industrial automation courses. To date, he has worked in different industrial automation projects including cooperation with design specialist and manufacturing office in different industrial power electronics based projects. Currently, he is working with official Energy Audit Team to prepare for industrial ISO 50001 certificates.
